How I Started in Backgammon: I was living on an isolated Italian farm in Umbria for several months, when some friends arrived bringing with them an intricately carved box. I asked what this was and when they opened it up they showed me a weird board with elongated triangles and some checkers. This, they explained, was a backgammon board and was a game played all over the Middle East. I asked them to show me how to play… and now I enter tournaments and play online every day!
